Privacy Policy

We collect almost nothing. This page tells you exactly what little we do collect and why.

Last updated: April 2026

The short version

sap.wtf is a personal project run by one IT admin who got tired of terrible SAP documentation. We are not a company, not a consultancy, and not a data business. We have no interest in your personal data and collect as little as possible to keep the site running.

What we collect

Email address (optional)
Only if you choose to subscribe to the monthly patch digest. We store your email address to send you that newsletter. Nothing else. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for any other purpose. You can unsubscribe at any time and your email will be deleted.
Anonymous usage data
We use privacy-focused analytics (no cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking) to understand which pages and error codes are most useful. This data is aggregated and cannot be traced back to you.
Horror story submissions
Stories are submitted anonymously. We do not ask for your name, email, employer, or any identifying information. We do not log IP addresses against submissions. We cannot tell who submitted what.
Error code lookups
When you look up an error code, we may log the code itself (not who looked it up) to improve our database coverage. We do not associate lookups with individuals.

What we do not collect

No advertising cookies or tracking pixels
No third-party data brokers or analytics resellers
No account creation — there are no accounts on this site
No payment information of any kind
No device fingerprinting
No location data beyond what your browser sends in a standard HTTP request

Third-party services

This site is hosted on Vercel and uses Supabase for database storage. Both are reputable infrastructure providers with their own privacy policies. We use Resend to deliver email newsletters. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any advertising technology.

Your rights

If you subscribed to the newsletter and want your email removed, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send — it works immediately. If you have any other data requests, contact us at the address in the footer. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we ever materially change how we handle data, we will post a notice on the site and update the date below. We will not quietly expand our data collection.

Questions

If you have any questions about this policy, reach out via the contact link in the footer. We are one person — responses may take a few days but we will get back to you.
